Relaxed Farm Wedding in South West WA | A Documentary Love Story
Melanie & Troy - 12th March 2026
There’s something really special about weddings that strip everything back.
No pressure. No rigid timelines. No expectations other than being fully present.
This day felt exactly like that.
Set on their friends’ farm in South West WA, surrounded by their closest friends and family, this wedding wasn’t about putting on a show, it was about connection. The kind you can feel in the air the second you arrive. From the very beginning, it was clear what mattered most to them. Not perfection. Not a packed schedule. Just being together, fully and intentionally, for every part of the day.
Their ceremony was held out on the farm, surrounded by open space and the kind of backdrop that doesn’t need anything added to it. They were married by their incredible friend Chris and that alone made the entire ceremony feel even more meaningful. There’s something so special about being married by someone who truly knows you. Every word felt personal. Every moment carried weight.
You could feel the emotion, not just from them, but from everyone standing there witnessing it.
One of the most beautiful things about this day was the absence of pressure. There was no strict timeline pulling them away from conversations, no rush to move from one part of the day to the next. They had time, real time, to hug their people, to sit, to laugh, to breathe it all in. And that’s where the magic lives. In the moments that aren’t planned, but end up meaning the most.
As the day rolled into the afternoon and the light began to soften, everything slowed even more. We stepped away for a few quiet moments together, nothing overly posed, nothing forced, just the two of them, existing together in that space. Taking a breath. Letting it all land.
Those are always my favourite moments to capture. The ones that feel like a pause in time.
This wasn’t a wedding built around expectations.
It wasn’t about doing things the “right” way.
It was about doing things their way, choosing connection over perfection, presence over pressure, and meaning over everything else.
And because of that, the entire day felt effortless. Honest. Completely and beautifully them.
